A very special visitor

In just a few minutes, we’ll be leaving for the airport to pick up our eldest granddaughter Tamsyn, who is flying down from Johannesburg to spend the weekend with us. We’re so excited to see her again. She has exciting times ahead, as next week she flies to New York  to spend time with our son and his family. In September she will begin her university studies at university in England.

I remember when she was just a sweet little tot.

Now she’s grown somewhat, but her love of dancing has never waned.

I wonder if she’ll be able to teach me some of these moves.

We’re going to have lots of fun, and on Sunday evening we’re going to see the  ‘Madame Zingara’ show which is on in Durban. Some of you may remember this pic which I took when we went to the Johannesburg show last year. If you did see it, you’ll definitely remember. 🙂

Happy Birthday Sienna

My darling granddaughter Sienna celebrates her ninth birthday today. She was such a cute little baby.

Now she’s an adorable, ‘not so little’ princess.

The really good news is that hubby and I are flying up to NJ next week to be at her birthday party.

 

Can’t wait to see them all again. It seems such a long time since last Christmas.

You SHALL go to the Ball!

My beautiful granddaughter Tamsyn loves to help out in the kitchen, and fortunately, unlike Cinderella, she doesn’t have any jealous ‘Ugly Sisters’ to spoil her fun.

When I saw photos of her all dressed up to go to her ‘A-Level, College Ball’, this quote came to mind:

“Don’t be alarmed, Cinderella,” said the fairy. “The wind blew me your sighs. I know you would love to go to the ball……

….and so you shall!“

I can hardly believe that she is eighteen already. The years certainly have flown by, and now she’s all grown up.
