A very special visitor

In just a few minutes, we’ll be leaving for the airport to pick up our eldest granddaughter Tamsyn, who is flying down from Johannesburg to spend the weekend with us. We’re so excited to see her again. She has exciting times ahead, as next week she flies to New York  to spend time with our son and his family. In September she will begin her university studies at university in England.

I remember when she was just a sweet little tot.

I wonder if she’ll be able to teach me some of these moves.

We’re going to have lots of fun, and on Sunday evening we’re going to see the  ‘Madame Zingara’ show which is on in Durban. Some of you may remember this pic which I took when we went to the Johannesburg show last year. If you did see it, you’ll definitely remember. 🙂

Happy weekend to you all.

Freedom to express her ‘Joie de Vivre’, for Ailsa’s Travel theme.

I just love this photo of my granddaughter running free in England, after her dad stopped the car on the South Downs, for a bit of a leg stretch.

As you can see, she loves to have the space and freedom to express her joy of living in the moment.

After the stress of studying for exams, a deserted beach is the ideal place to find freedom from the confines of everyday life.

What is your idea of freedom? Visit Ailsa’s Travel Theme post this week, and join in the fun.

My granddaughter is all grown up.

Today is my darling granddaughter Tamsyn’s 19th birthday. What a very special person she is, and it doesn’t seem that long ago that she was just a tiny princess.

She’s always loved to dance, and has made us all so proud of her through the years.

She is full of fun, and loves to goof around.

She loves dressing up, and as you can see, is a whole lot of fun to be with.

Her pics on Facebook always make me smile.

She can play the ‘Femme Fatale’ with panache.

This is what she does after Sunday lunch.

She has challenged me to do this on a few occasions. Does she think I’m crazy?

Maybe this would be easier, but I’m not going to even try.

She’s grown up so fast, and passed her driving test this week. That’s no mean feat in Johannesburg.

What an elegant young lady she’s become.

Happy birthday, Tamsyn. May all your dreams come true, and be sure to always keep that wonderful smile.
