Cheerful Pink for Cee’s FFC

Pink is one of my favourite colours, and my little granddaughters certainly take after me.

My  birthday in July last year was quite a pink affair, with my sister making me this beautiful chocolate cake, decorated in pink.

The following  day was my actual birthday, and we had ‘high tea’ at the Oyster Box Hotel, also with a pink theme.

My favourite pink Hibiscus is/was growing in a pot outside our front door in Umhlanga. I hope the new owner is looking after it well.

Pink is such a happy colour, and this weekend, I’m going to think pink and be as cheerful as these beautiful Proteas.

I’m sure everything is going to work out just fine, and as there’s nothing I can do to speed up the process of finally getting our Green Cards, I’m going to keep calm and stop worrying about it.  As our son often says,”It is what it is.” 🙂

It-Is-What-It-Is

Have a great weekend, and ‘Happy Mothers’ Day’ to all of you awesome moms. We rock!

Macro Monday: Pink delight

IMG_5276

Hope you all had a delightful weekend. Today I’ve spent ages trying to draw a Great Blue Heron, but it looks more like a duck. 😦   Now, the real deal is sitting right outside, laughing at me.

One last “Hurrah” for my Hibiscus on Floral Friday.

As we locked the door to our house for the last time on Wednesday, the Hibiscus in the three pots alongside our front path, waved goodbye to me. They promised to stay healthy and to always to be there,  welcoming the new owner every time she returns home, just as they’ve done for us for so many years.

I will of course have to plant some exactly the same in our Florida garden.

We’re gradually getting used to our temporary accommodation, but have almost driven into the driveway of our old house a few times, as it’s only a few metres up the road. Wishing you all a splendid weekend.

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” ~ Anne Frank

These two beauties are flowering so profusely in the pots outside our front door. At the end of the month when we move, I will have to leave them behind. I really hope that their new owner will love and care for them as I have done.
