Thursday’s Special: A Right Royal Palm Tree

For Paula’s ‘Thursday’s Special- Pick a Word’, I’ve chosen the word ‘transience’. A good example of the meaning of the word, is firstly the¬†reddish purple fruit of the majestic and classic Florida Royal Palm, which soon disappears as it’s a good food source for birds. The second transient thing about it is that each ring on the trunk of the tree signifies a leaf frond which has died and fallen off. This palm tree which is considered to be the most beautiful palm in Florida, can grow up to 80 feet tall and has a life span of about 100 years, so the tree itself is not at all transient.
