Florida Water Birds for ‘Feathers on Friday’.

I’m so excited that we’ll soon be heading back to our home in Florida. We’ll be going via England, in order to visit my MiL, who at 101 is still fighting fit. I’m so looking forward to seeing her again, and then after our visit with her, we’ll be on our way to Miami. Or tickets are all booked and seats reserved, so we’ll soon be flying out of here. Wouldn’t it be great to have our own wings like these beautiful water birds which feature quite a lot in my Florida posts? Here are just a few of the feathered friends I’ve been missing, for Charlotte’s ‘Feathers on Friday Challenge’.

    • Thanks, John. Sorry, I forgot to do the caption the caption. It’s an Anhinga, sometimes called a Snake Bird. They do look very similar to Cormorants, but Anhingas have pointed bills while cormorants have a hooked bill.

  2. All beautiful birds!
Oh how exciting you must be getting as the date approaches.
So nice that you will be visiting your mil before heading to the US.

    • Thanks, Gilly. When we visit England, I’m prepared for all eventualities weather-wise. My case will contain, sandals, boots, bikinis, jerseys, umbrella and sunglasses. I think I’ll leave out the kitchen sink. 🙂

  3. It’s hard to believe it’s been another year, and your mother-in-law is now 101!! Amazing. Good for her. I’m sure you’re happy to be going home to Florida. These bird photos would make anyone homesick. They’re beautiful! 🙂
