Actually, nothing in nature is ever mundane, but some things, especially the smaller flying insects may sometimes escape our attention. The Halloween Pennant dragonfly is one of the most prolific and colourful found here in Florida. They don’t stay still for long, so one has to be very quick.
Wishing you all a very pleasant week.
And you were quick indeed. A beautiful photo, Sylvia!
Have a wonderful weekend, dear. x
Thanks, Marion. 🙂
Awesome capture, Sylvia! Nice details!
A lovely shot, Sylvia.

Wat een schitterend libel.Eentje van bij jullie want hier nooit gezien
So pretty and such a great shot! I imagine a whole lot of these together would be quite a sight to see. I enjoyed watching the dragon flies on the pond when we were in Ubud, Bali.

Beautiful shot and nicely done. Looks like the dragonfly hovered around for you 🙂
Great shot Sylvia, totally magical 🙂
That’s an unusual colour. And what a great capture Sylvia. Your nature photos are stunning. Hope you are having a good week too! We have finally lost the wind. Well not all the wind, but that horrible bitterly cold buffeting wind that made it awfully unpleasant to go outdoors.
Wow, that is a great macro shot! You can see the wing ribs so clearly..
Thank you. It was a lucky shot. 😃
Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one . How beautiful Sylvia, I will certainly be looking the next time I’m down there. Thank you for educating me :)!
Thanks, Kathy. Glad you like him. 😃
Excellent clarity! I just did two posts about dragonflies.

Fantastic photo! You did very well to capture him so nicely.
Thanks, Carol.
What a beautiful creature! You are fortunate to have so much nature in your neck of the woods. The dragonfly me of my childhood, but we took them for granted. Now, I pay so much attention to nature when I visit Zambia that my niece exclaimed “Just move back to Zambia if you love it so much and I move to the US!”. 🙂
Haha. Your niece is very sharp. 😅
Beautifully caught, Sylvia!! I love dragonflies. They look like very colorful mono/biplanes only much more acrobatic. 🙂
