Me too. I remember in Barcelona that there was a really scary one, and when a woman tourist went to put money in his hat, he suddenly stood up. She did freak out. It was really funny to see. π
what a cool shot S – and what is going on in that background? was this a moving shot – well I feel so much good tension with the photo – like with her stillness – and the cool costume – but then her collar is showing and we see a touch of her colored skin – which hints of the real person hereβ¦ and the item to the left of the box – and then what is that she is standing on. sorry – but when I saw the small image I thought how calm and quieting for a worlds wednesday – but then the larger version had all this layers of tasty things – very cool shotβ¦.
so I bet the zoom in led to that background – truly a unique shot.
Yes, you’re right. π

Well she doesn’t look quite as dangerous as the ‘Weeping Angels’ in the Doctor Who TV series. π
BTW, WP somehow unfollowed me from your blog. Just clicked Follow again.
Thanks, Jill. These street artists usually stand on a box. Her purse and other belongings would be safe inside it. We were warned by our guide that a gang of pickpockets operate around the cathedral square. π¦
The characters that stand as statues actually freak me out a little…
I’m fine, until they suddenly come to life, then I can jump out of my skin. π
Priceless.
Thank you. π
Awww…sweet π
π
povero angioletto, Γ¨ proprio palliduccio ha ha!
Yes, she did look very sweet. π
lovely shot Sylvia. i wonder how they can stand still for so long. π
I don’t know if it’s intentional … Perfect angle of the shot. Love the background and the perspective the tiles ground made.
Very unique Angel π
Thanks, Jake. π
A bit creepy.. π
Hehe. Yes, it must be the ghostly white face. π
There are performance artist who do this type of thing. It must be difficult to stand for an extended period of time. Very nice WW …. π
Thanks, Issy. It is quite an art to be able to do this. I admire them.
Einen schΓΆnen Donnerstag ein schΓΆner Enkel muss ganz still stehn GrΓΌΓe und Umarmung Gislinde
Absolutely, Gislinde. They are very patient. Happy Thursday to you too. π
If I walked by and she moved, I would completely freak out. I do like the halo. And the wings kinda rock.

What a lovely photograph and model! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome. Thanks for your visit. π
She looks holy enough π but I wonder what she’s standing on? Great capture, Sylvia!
A few people have asked that question. I suppose it’s some sort of box or crate that she’s covered with fabric or plastic.
She is cute. I think she is an obvious angle π
Yes, she was very cute. π

Thanks, Yvette. I just enlarged the photo and zoomed in, and I see what you mean about all the little details. I’d missed that. π
so I bet the zoom in led to that background – truly a unique shot.

Don’t blink anyways,no sense risking it π
I’d say she was no contest for the ‘Weeping Angels’, Phil. π WP plays tricks on me too. I thought you’d gone off me and my blog. π
I admire these people being able to stay so still, I’m such a fidget!
Me to, Gilly. Glad I don’t have to do this for a living. π
What a lovely angel
Thanks, Marylou. Yes she is. π
If that were me, my nose would start itching which would drive me nuts. What a great photo! Thank you. Love, Amy
Thanks, Amy. I couldn’t stay so still for more than a minute. π
Me either. LOL
So beautiful and so still. I cant imagine how they do it.
Me neither, Sue. I’d be sure to sneeze, or get an itch I had to scratch. π
That’s a rather down-to-earth angel. Maybe she’s been grounded?
Hahaha. Maybe, Nancy. She does look very well behaved though. π
This is very interesting Sylvia – wonder what the deal was behind this.
Thanks, Mary. Some of these living statues will change their position if someone puts a few coins in their box. π
I’d fall over well before I ever received a penny!
You must have been pretty surprised to see this!
Nothing surprises me any more. In Europe, these living statues are very prevalent. A novel way for students to earn a few bucks. π
Love the halo…looks just like mine π π xx
Haha. Do you wear it often? π
Oh all the time Sylvia…all the time π
π
I’m not really sure why, maybe dr who, but this totally would creep me out!!!

Yes Christy, I agree that these living statues are all rather creepy.
Very interesting shot, Sylvia. Do you know what she was standing on?
Thanks, Jill. These street artists usually stand on a box. Her purse and other belongings would be safe inside it. We were warned by our guide that a gang of pickpockets operate around the cathedral square. π¦
Wow, of all places for a pickpocket to hang out, eh?
Nowhere is sacred these days. π
Sad, but true. π¦
Now that is quite something π
I agree, Andy. Don’t know how they can stand so still for so long. π
